I am a chartered physiotherapist with a special interest in performing arts, sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I completed my MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London and previously qualified as a physiotherapist in India. I have also completed postgraduate training in dance injury management and am currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. I continue to undertake professional development in sports and performing arts medicine to ensure my practice remains current and evidence informed.
I currently work as a Performing Arts Specialist Physiotherapist at Trinity Laban Health Centre, where I support dancers, musical theatre performers and musicians. I have experience working with performers across a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, ballroom and Indian classical dance. I enjoy helping performers recover from injury, manage pain and return safely to rehearsals, training and performance.
Alongside my current role, I completed mentored clinical practice within a specialist NHS dance clinic and undertook postgraduate study in dance injury management. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of the physical and psychological demands of performing and the importance of balancing recovery with artistic goals.
Before specialising in performing arts medicine, I worked with athletes at recreational and elite levels, giving me broad experience in managing a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and supporting people to return to the activities they enjoy.
I also have a background in Indian classical music, which has given me a personal appreciation of the commitment, discipline and pressures involved in performance. I understand how injury can affect confidence, identity and wellbeing, and I aim to provide a supportive, collaborative approach that helps performers feel informed and involved throughout their rehabilitation.
My treatment combines education, hands-on physiotherapy and individually tailored exercise programmes to help performers move with confidence, reduce the risk of future injury and achieve their performance goals.
