As well as being a fully trained CBT therapist I am also a professional musician and I understand many of the pressures facing musicians and performers. Having originally trained as a musician I studied a Masters Degree in psychology for musicians and I decided to become a therapist myself. Sarah’s earlier career as a Professional Musician enabled her to develop experience and insight into the challenges, pressures and demands facing the musician from training to professional life in music performance.
Sarah is a BAPAM assessing clinician in Cardiff and has a private practice in West Wales. She combines her experience and expertise across her two careers to provide a specialist service for musicians and performers. As a practitioner she uses a Cognitive-Behavioural and integrative approach, drawn from a psychological-biological-social understanding of human behaviour and emotional needs. Focusing on the unique needs and resources of the individual, Sarah works collaboratively with clients to develop understanding, guide skill acquisition, strengthen coping abilities, and nurture resilience.
