Hi. I’m Sharon, a BACP-registered counsellor, psychotherapist and artist wellbeing practitioner based in Stratford-upon-Avon.

With over 20 years of professional experience, my practice is focused on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people in the performing arts industry, providing a safe and non-judgemental space in which to explore any issues that may be having a negative or detrimental impact on day-to-day life.

Through my close association with organisations such as Wellbeing in the Arts, I have worked extensively within the entertainment sector, providing dedicated mental health and wellbeing support to individuals, productions and organisations across the creative and performing arts industries.

My experience in this field has involved me supporting people with a wide variety of presenting issues, ranging from imposter syndrome to chronic career insecurity. The underlying pressures associated with life in the performing arts can often conspire to create significant feelings of anxiety, be that around the act of performing itself, or simply having to deal with some of the many day-to-day challenges involved with being a performer. Everything from audition knock-backs (or, worse still, never hearing anything back at all), to feeling the pressure to keep up professionally with one’s peers, the multiple demands faced by a performer can eventually start to have a noticeable impact on resilience and self-esteem, frequently leading to symptoms of anxiety, burnout and depression. For neurodivergent members of the performing arts professions, in particular, the overwhelming nature of some of these challenges can often prove to be extremely debilitating.

Whatever your reason(s) for seeking support, I am always happy to arrange a free and confidential initial consultation to answer any questions you may have about my practice and its suitability for your needs.

Therapy is available online, by telephone, or in person (at my practice in Stratford-upon-Avon), and sessions can be arranged on a short-term or open-ended basis, tailored as flexibly as possible to fit around busy performance schedules.

For BAPAM-registered members seeking therapy on a privately funded basis, I offer a 20% discount.
