Biography

I'm a registered therapist in private practice, working with individuals and groups, with a particular specialism in supporting people who work in the music industry and the performing arts.

My clinical approach draws on Transactional Analysis (TA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My work is relational (focusing on what develops in the therapy space) and psychodynamic (examining how thoughts, feelings and behaviours from the past might show up in the present). I hold a PG Dip in Integrative Psychotherapy and am registered with the BACP. I am currently working towards full clinical registration with UKCP.

I have a long-standing interest in how talented people become stuck, experience imposter feelings, and (creative) burn out, a dynamic I saw often in my career in the music industry. This has shaped a practice attentive to the particular pressures of performing and touring life: precarity, public visibility, irregular schedules, and the blurred line between identity and work.

I am affiliated with the Music Industry Therapist Collective (MITC), through which I provide individual psychotherapy and welfare coaching to touring crews, and I am part of the MITC/Maria May Electronic Music Executive Stress Management Programme, a funded initiative supporting entry- to mid-level electronic music professionals.

Alongside individual and couples work, I run all-male therapy groups (online and in person), and offer outdoor therapy sessions on Hoylake Beach. I practise in South Manchester (Didsbury and Chorlton) and the Wirral (Birkenhead Park), and online.
