I have been an osteopath in Central Scotland for 26 years and have extensive clinical experience. I have worked for the NYO for 10 years as their Physical Health Tutor and have treated many hundreds of musicians. I have developed warm-up and cool-down exercises for each orchestral section, and tutti, and they form a part of the daily residency routine. I have worked with NYOS, WSSSO, the Bendetti Foundation and have been a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
I am a founder of the website musiciansintune.com, which gives advice and guidance on the health and well-being of musicians.
Clinically, I look to treat the causes of pain and discomfort, rather than just the symptoms, and understand the physical challenges for musicians from every section.
I work with BECTU Vision in Scotland and run workshops in physical health and well-being for scripted film & TV production crew.
