BAPAM is the medical charity for the performing arts.

With 40 years of experience supporting artists, creators and professionals, we understand the unique physical and psychological demands of a creative career.

On stage, backstage, on set, in the studio, teaching, on tour, at college – if you have a health problem related to your work or study in performing arts, BAPAM can help.

We provide free face to face consultations around the UK, with the benefits of comprehensive assessment (including being able to demonstrate your performance in person) and expert hands-on care.

London – Consultations with a range of clinicians specialising in performing arts medicine are available at our Mansell Street clinic.

Flexible and accessible online consultations are also available, and BAPAM clinicians are skilled in ensuring that virtual consultations provide a thorough assessment and help you access effective ongoing treatment and care when needed.

BAPAM’s dedicated clinical team offer support with physical and psychological health concerns, voice problems, worries about your hearing and other conditions affecting your practice in the performing arts. By providing specialist advice from clinicians with a deep understanding of creative sector health needs, we work with you to overcome problems quickly and help you access the most effective care.

We can advise about other financial and practical support to help with health problems affecting your work or studies, and we work in partnership with organisations including Help Musicians, PPL, Equity, the PRS Members’ Fund, the Musicians’ Union, Equity Charitable Trust, the Royal Society of Musicians, Actors’ Benevolent Fund and the Royal Variety Charity.
