PRS Members’ Fund offer a series of webinars focusing on creativity and well-being with British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM).

About this event

PRS Members’ Fund are delighted to offer a series of webinars focusing on creativity and well-being with our partner the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) as part of PRS for Music’s “On with the Show” campaign to support creators as they get back to performing live.

Facilitated by Dr Terry Clark from the Centre of Performance Science, who has a particular interest in creativity, mental practice and performance psychology, the series will provide a safe space for members to reflect on the past year and their creative practice. Terry will be joined by experts in creativity over the six-week series to facilitate participants to:

  • share their experience and practice
  • help members to build confidence and deal with their inner critic
  • find their voice, understand what drives them
  • learn more about what creativity is
  • build mental and physical stamina to get back to work safely
  • and build a network to stay connected with

We’ve heard from many members how demotivating the lockdown has been to the creative process and this series of webinars will use BAPAM’s “Healthy and Creative Practice Diary” to develop goals for their practice, gain support from their peers in the group and build new knowledge and skills from experts in the field to help in the process of returning to work.

You can sign up for the whole series or for individual session to fit with your commitments.

Workshops calendar:

All sessions will take place from 11am to 1pm. Zoom meeting details will be sent prior to each events.

About PRS Members’ Fund

We all know the music industry can be unpredictable and demanding, and even after periods of success it can be precarious with no guarantee of earnings. This means that when crisis hits such as illness, accident or well-being breakdown, there may be no safety net. We are here to provide support for PRS members, former members, and their immediate families in times of difficulty.

We can help with support and advice for those struggling financially, physically or emotionally – whether you’re in crisis and in need of immediate support with financial help, housing, mental health or physical health issues or you’re finding yourself looking for career change advice, counselling or coaching.

We’re here to help you get back on track, to find your voice again and let you get on with what you’re good at. More info at www.prsmembersfund.com or contact us at fund@prsformusic.com and 0203 741 4067.

About BAPAM

Established 30 years ago, BAPAM is the largest provider of Performing Arts Medicine in the UK with coverage across the four nations and a growing Directory of over 200 approved clinicians, registered with BAPAM.
We provide free clinical assessments for performers with health problems effecting their performing arts practice. In 2020, we provided occupational health support to over 1500 patients, providing over 1200 clinical assessment appointments. Our support is focused on specialist clinical assessment to determine the correct diagnosis and best care pathway for a performer, providing clinical advice and referring onward to experts in the field where necessary. In some cases we also able to provide ongoing mental health support.

Regulated by the Care Quality Commission, we operate under robust clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks with leadership from our Board and Medical Committee. Performance professionals generally access care via our Helpline, and our (non-clinical) Helpline operators advise on care options and arrange appointments according to approved protocols. We also run a health education programme with free sessions available online and bespoke sessions which can be booked for individual organisations.
